Beaches Near Dartmouth

Our local beaches are truly stunning and what better place to enjoy in summertime, but also for walks in the cooler months.

Blackpool Sands:

Blackpool Sands is without doubt one of South Devon’s most iconic and most visited beaches and sits in a sheltered bay surrounded by pine trees 2 ½ miles from Dartmouth. It offers water sports facilities and has a large cafe and gift shop. What better place to spend a sunny day? Dogs are not permitted from 1st March through to the end of the Autumn half term.

Strete Gate:

Strete Gate beach is situated a mile west of the village of Strete, where a large car park is available. This vast expanse of beach is a mixture of fine sand and shingle where BBQs are permitted, but please respect the environment by removing all rubbish when you leave – thank you.

Torcross:

This mainly pebble beach to the west of Slapton is popular and has takeaway food and drinks available from cafes and the Start Bay Inn situated right on the beach.
