Tours may be arranged for groups from 2 to 6 guests as standard, with larger groups by prior arrangement. Our range of experiences include for example wine and cheese tastings which may be arranged where you’re staying or at one of our personally selected venues.

Helicopter Tours

Explore the stunning South West Coastline on your very own private Helicopter Charter.

About This Service

Our flagship tour comes from above, with an aerial tour in your own privately chartered helicopter.

There are several great options to choose from:

  1. Helicopter meets you at, or near the place you’re staying (please note we have approved landing areas throughout South Devon and only these may be used unless special arrangements are made in advance).
  2. You meet the helicopter at its base in South Dartmoor.
  3. Transfers may be arranged for you to meet the helicopter at its base or at an approved location.

Special events and a surprise arrival of the helicopter are always well received and we also offer flights to weddings.

Flights are arranged for private charters to take 3-4 passengers (this is dependant upon the all up weight calculations when carrying 4 passengers).

The duration of flights are usually 1 hour air time depending where you wish to join the aircraft.

 Flights are subject to our standard operating terms and conditions.

Passengers must be within height and weight limits and be able to leave the aircraft unassisted if required to do so).

Vineyard Tour & Wine Tasting

Visit the beautiful Calancombe Estate, home to award-winning Calancombe Wines & Ciders, and Dartmouth Gin.

About This Service

Discover the fabulous Calancombe Estate, home to award-winning Calancombe Wines, Ciders and Dartmouth Gin.

The guided tours of the vineyards and orchards will give you the chance to learn about our grape varieties and how they are grown. These tours will also include a visit to the Winery where we will explain how we make our award-winning wines, cider and cassis, and tours will conclude in the Visitor Centre with a tasting of a range of their wines. On Saturdays and Sundays, the tour will include lunch consisting of delicious local cheeses and charcuterie. If you are vegan, vegetarian or have any specific dietary needs do let us know in advance and we will do what we can to meet your needs.

Visitors can also visit us for a ‘Self Guided Tour and Tasting’. There is no need to book for a Self-Guided Tour and Tasting although if you feel more comfortable do give us a call in advance to let us know you are coming and we will reserve you a table. You will be provided with a fully annotated map of the estate which provides lots of details about the vineyards and orchards and after your tour, you will have the chance to sample our wines, cassis and gin, accompanied by full tasting notes.

Dartmouth Gin School & Tasting

Spend the afternoon discovering how Dartmouth English Gin is made, and make your very own gin.

About This Service

Dartmouth English Gin is made with the finest botanicals that are sourced from around the World, together with herbs, flowers and fruit from the Calancombe Estate. The crystal clear fresh spring water, sourced at Calancombe, is an essential element of the gin produced.

Dartmouth English Gin is smooth, full-bodied and refreshing. It can be enjoyed on its own, is delightful with tonic, and is the perfect foundation for a wide range of cocktails, where the gin’s complexity and balance provide the perfect serve.

Hosted by the Head Distiller, guests will have the opportunity to spend the afternoon discovering a few secrets about how Dartmouth English Gin is made, including how to operate the Distillery’s bespoke Müller column still. Guests decide their own botanical mix and then run one of the 10 copper alembic stills to produce their own unique gin to take home.

World War II Heritage Tour

Incorporating Exercise Tiger, this historic tour is provided by Dartmouth Museum’s Curator.

About This Service

This amazing tour begins meeting in Dartmouth, visiting Dartmouth’s historic museum where you’ll be given a short audio-visual presentation in the meeting room covering the details and the background the tour which will follow. You will then be provided with tea and coffee before a tour of the museum itself.

The World War II Heritage Tour will begin walking along the embankment and a short walk to Dartmouth Castle where entrance and a Self-Tour of the castle is available (subject to English Heritage seasonal opening times). After this, you will be taken by road to Blackpool Sands where some of the D-Day landing practices took place. This is then followed by a journey to the Slapton coastline and Torcross, first paying a visit to the War Memorial and then to the Exercise Tiger Tank Memorial site, where a lone Sherman Tank stands as the salute and tribute to those who tragically lost their lives on that fateful night of 28th April 1944.

This tour is for a minimum of 4 people (available up to groups of 6).
